The Brave X Pridelands X Mirrors X Isotopes @ The Factory Theatre [GIG REPORT]

Headliner: The Brave Supports: Pridelands X Mirrors X Isotopes Date: 16/08/2019 Venue: The Factory Theatre Photos: Nathenial Burns + Max Koch {Isotopes Gallery} - Isotopes - I’ve heard of Isotopes in the past and I was quite excited to get my first glimpse of the band live. With this being my first encounter seeing them, I was hopeful that there would be a bit more liveliness and energy from their live show, which was unfortunately hampered by sound difficulties I definitely feel as though a better lighting set up could take Isotopes performance up a few notches. Despite being openers, it never hurts to unexpectedly step up your game and REALLY kick off a gig. The band played some of their o

Caracal // Mouth Of Madness [Single Review]

Song: Mouth of Madness Band: Caracal Release: Single Area: Singapore Date of Release: 16/08/19 Genre: Post-Hardcore For Fans Of: The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Twelve Foot Ninja, Marmozets (mathcore era) “Both feet in, both feet in, You've got both feet in the mouth of sin.” Coming direct from Singapore, Caracal have graced us with their crushing new post-hardcore ripper ’Mouth of Madness’. As a newcomer to the band, this track was quick to seize my undivided attention. If you like your expectations subverted as much as I do, then this one is definitely for you. As ‘Mouth of Madness’ opens, Caracal cut right to the chase, blasting off into your eardrums with some rhythmically sporadic

Bellwood - Wolf Creek - Starting the night strong, Wolf Creek set the stage with a sound that served to subvert your expectations when it comes to heavy music; drawing elements of grunge, hard-core, alternative rock, nu metal and even some odd nods to electronica, all of which bring a distinct dynamic to their brutality. It’s as catchy as it is crushing, and Chase Bosward’s aggressive, yet oddly melodic vocal performance weaves it all together on top of a tight band. You’ll be hearing a grunge-infused chorus transition straight int

Aiden Bradley does 'Stupid Things' with new single featuring Lochie Mathews

One of Brisbane’s finest up and coming indie talents, Aiden Bradley, has released new music in the shape of ‘Stupid Things’ featuring Lochie Matthews. Following on from other releases this year, ‘Mess Things Up’ and ‘Boat Ramps’, Aiden is starting to build himself a somber catalogue of music that is easy and enjoyable to listen to. This, and his other songs, are going to be right up your alley if you love having some laid back tunes on the background while you study, relax during the day or take a nice, long, late night drive. I couldn’t help but feel a strong sense of influence from Foxing. Still in his infancy, Aiden doesn’t quite achieve the extreme ends of the emotional spectrum th
