“What do you want? Taking a life to watch others suffer? This can't be the end I've had enough of this, just take me, just to spare them, I don't know what else I'm supposed to do, I'll put an end to myself. Just take me away I don't want to be here anymore.”
It’s been a while since we last heard from this Melbourne-based Progressive Melodic Deathmetal band, their last single only being released back in May of 2016. Since then, there have been a number of lineup changes with vocalist Bailey Schembri and guitarist Wojtek “Woj” Tomczyk being the only original members left. They are now joined by bassist Ewan David Gordon, guitarist Alexander Karl Zakeus Petersson (Damn that’s a mouthful!) and Nathan Sanderson on drums.
New single 'Take Me With You' opens with a lovely Middle Eastern flavored backdrop before the track explodes with some crushing guitar riffs, heavy-as-fuck drumming and brutal screams from vocalist Bailey. Things slow down around the halfway mark with some gorgeous lulling riffs, an ambient atmosphere and a few lovely sung clean vocals before returning to the dark side. It’s good to see the boys experimenting with their sound more, adding different layers and shifting tempos within in the one track and it works well here. Looking forward to the full EP release which is called “V”, out May 18.
