“The train carriage is sparse. I look away from my phone screen. For fear of becoming skewered by the socio-political state of my news feed. Try to feel some sense of connection with those around me.”
It’s been about five months since we last heard from this Melbourne-based Indie Punk-Pop band with their single 'Belgrave Line'. The boys have returned with another catchy banger called 'Maybe'. It’s short and sharp at only two minutes long but they pack it with memorial lyrics and strong melodies. Musically, it seems like they’re shifting in a slightly more mainstream direction a la Kisschasy, though they certainly stand out from the crowd.
They have a very collaborative and “Do It Yourself” approach with members Matt Jones and Aidan Ginn writing, directing and editing the music video for 'Maybe'. The video features the members in a suburban home mucking around, doing chores, playing their instruments and being splattered on by friends. The use of fast-forward, reverse motion and added on-screen lyrics is cleverly handled and makes the video more interesting to watch.
