"Please don't ask me not to cry, please don't ask me not to cry" - Don't Break My Heart

KGM have released their debut self-titled album, that not only is attractive to the ears, but gives us a refreshing feel of classical rock that almost anybody could enjoy. What I noticed in this album was that most of the songs are unique, from one side of the album being an excellent display of acoustics followed by front man Kim Kelly’s stunning vocals, to another side being more slightly aggressive rock that is still pleasant and more than tolerable. I’m going to dive right in and share a few of my favourite tracks from this album.

The track 'Don’t Break My Heart' which is a stunning original from the 3 piece band, really had me feeling old school Beetles vibes! The sound of the song is so happy and upbeat and truly makes me smile. Lyrically the song is straight forward and right to the point. Only thing to note here really is the song Is quite repetitive, but either way, its catchy!

The next track that caught my ears was 'Lady In Red', which is slightly more on the aggressive rock side of the album and one of the lead singles.. The opening riff which is played on throughout the song is catchy again, but still quote repetitive. Lyrically again, the song is catchy. Around a minute and 50 seconds into the song were hit with some wicked shredding on the guitar which truly adds just that extra element of excitement to this tune. This is probably my favourite track from the album.

Collectively, the album is produced very well. Although some songs may get the slightest bit repetitive it is definitely full of catchy tunes that I feel really anyone could like. Both 'Lady In Red’ and 'Don’t Break My Heart' are two wildly different moods in tone, which truly displays the talent KGM has to create music displaying two separate ends to the rock spectrum. I’m surprised, yet pleasantly impressed by this band, and I truly hope to hear more in the future!
