“If you can hear me now please know I am missing you” - Intro
Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. The Five stages of Grief. The journey travelled to reach a point of peace.
Within Belief have taken these stages and using personal experiences produced a musical journey via their EP 'The Parting Gift' for the listener.
'Denial' – Featuring Lizi Blanco of The Beautiful Monument. The raw and bleeding vocals of Ralph Brown make you feel the pain whilst Lizi spins us into the whirlpool of turmoil and confusion.
“Breathing in that moment in time, Suspended and lost in it all, There’s tragedy in losing a loved one”
'Anger' – Featuring Mitchell Rawlings of Above the Fallen. The anger is palpable in this song. Pummelling drums combined with growled and whispered vocals make you want to bang your head. Wihen the peak of the breakdown hits, every fibre in your being wants to smash something.
“Taken the one I loved, well before his time, you fucking took his life, you know it isn’t right”
'Bargaining' – Featuring Tom Armstrong of Earthbound. The pain and anger comes through again in this song. Unspoken words, regrets and apologies. The pleading for more time, for the things left unsaid and done.
“Wish I could restart and make amends”
'Depression' – Featuring David de la Hoz of Belle Haven. A slower and more melodic song this has you feeling that spiralling black hole of depression that comes from losing a loved one. The guitar sections in this song bring all the feels to the surface.
“Can you hear me, I really wish I could hear you say my name, Since you died I’ve been dead inside and I miss you always”
'Acceptance' –While revisiting the previous four stages of grief in this song you get the feeling that, although the pain will never leave, there will come a time when the grief will subside. The memories, love and connection that you have with the person you have lost will always be with you.
“And some day we will meet again”
Whether you are grieving or have grieved the loss of someone “The Parting Gift“ will resonate in some way with you.
