New Noise // Last Light [Single Review]

December 19, 2017

Song: Last Light
Band: New Noise
Release: City of Virtue
Area: Melbourne
Date of release: October 2017
Genre: Post Hardcore/Alt Rock
Reviewer: Ben Namrog
For Fans Of: Nine Inch Nails, BMTH, Parkway Drive

My first impression was that it was a bit different to a lot of the mainstream sounds coming out at the moment. With big thumping drum/bass combination and almost Layne Staley of Alice In Chains clean vocals I thought I was in for a big 90’s grunge throwback.

However when the big killer chorus kicks in and they combine the clean & scream it brings the song into modern day. I’ve gotta say I love the screen quality of the vocalist, it is a real strength. The clean however needs work as at times it gets a little loose and wanders a little too much.

Overall I’m digging the song and I think there are big tunes that will come out of this group.

Look out for New Noise!
