“It's past midnight, I'm still awake
I want to reach the sky but I'm afraid”

Melancholy music has a time and place for most people, some listen to it when they’re down, others listen to it almost exclusively. Harmless Like You are the kind of band that can connect with people outside of those times and those places.

Comprised of guitarist Gabriel, bassist Adrian (ex-Earth Caller & Materials), and vocalist Sora (ex-Materials). The group started hanging out in early 2017 ,affected by a long line of depressing breakups, the idea for Harmless Like You began to take shape. Originally natives of NSW they have found themselves in the middle of an emo resurgence in Melbourne.

'Wait, Nevermind' opens with a simple chord progression joined soon after by an emotional, yet restrained voice. As with many emo-influenced alternative rock songs, each instrument waits patiently for its turn to add layers to the song, building and swelling without ever breaking a sweat. The repetition of lyrics and the driving beat cause tension, to which the crescendo then responds by creating a sense of release, an outpouring of the pain and anguish that the band communicates so effectively.
