"I just want to feel something."

Straight out of Ohio, Life In Idle deliver a classic sound, with a new edge. Their song, 'Paranoia', follows the classic Pop-Punk vibe that has existed for so long, but by adding heavier drum parts, and heavier vocals, the band was able to recreate a genre that fits their direction perfectly.

Starting off slow, the song begins to build up during the first section, before coming in strong with the full band. This way of song-writing fits the song perfectly, as it adds a level of change to the song that makes it far more interesting.

The drums that are present in this song are not the most complicated, but done in such a way that the double kick feature is truly a strong feature in the song. It adds a heavier atmosphere to an otherwise mellow song, and creates an extra layer that improves the overall enjoyment of the song.

Lyrically, the vocals are catchy. The lyrics present are dark, but are sung in such a way that they come across lively, and happy. Having the chorus sung so often to the song is a strong tactic used, which makes the vocal hook stay in the listener’s head long after.

Ultimately, this song, and the album, represent the stylings of this band perfectly. They’re heavy, without being too heavy, but somehow soft, without being too soft. If Life In Idle continue to go in this direction, they will keep growing, and just get better and better with every release.
