'The Rose of Rancid Petals' is the latest single to be released from this 5 piece Melbourne-based melodic death metal band. It was exclusively recorded for the five year anniversary of their debut EP “Beneath The Frozen Sky” which is set to be re-released on Sunday October 21st. There are all the usual trademarks here from the band including epic guitar solos, thunderous drumming, rapid-fire riffs, intense roars and menacing growls.

The music video, directed by Miki Simankevicius (Miki Media), begins with the boys sitting around the dining room table impatiently waiting for their lead singer Ben to arrive. What begins as a fancy, candle-lit dinner inside a suburban dining room quickly turns into a chaotic, metal as fuck party when some unexpected guests arrive! Hollow World fans will be pleased to see the return of the band’s former vocalist Karl Steller looking swag as hell, dressed in a backwards snapback, sunnies, chain and fur jacket.

There are also a few members of various Melbourne-based metal bands including Alex Hill and Grant McGuiness of Ame Noire who swing by to gatecrash the dinner party. It’s a very tongue-in-cheek affair but it’s all done with hilarious panache and an overdramatic flair. There’s also a handful of references to the boys interests with video games, beer bongs, chicken nuggets and microwaved dinners. It’s good to see them trying out something different and add some elements of comedy into their work.
