“These vultures wont stop till’ I’m only bones”

RedHook have just released their new single ‘Only Bones’ a few weeks back. I’ve been familiar with the band and have quite liked their tracks in the past, but this new single really just didn’t do it for me. After listening to the song a fair few times over I cant help but find myself being distracted. As corny as it sounds, I’m just not being hooked into what I’m listening too.

The lyrics are cliché and the Rhythm is repetitive. I feel as If the intentions for the track was to be edgy and ominous and i get that, although I feel that the band as a collective has so much more potential and could have released something much better, lyrically anyway.

With that aside the sound is good! The lead singer Emmy is pitched extremely well and I enjoy her energy. The guitars and drums sound great which comes with good quality producing and the nu metal vibes are still there. I respect that. I just feel if a little more creativity was thrown into the track it may be a little more bearable to listen too.

The band has done well thus far and just because this one track wasn’t my cup of tea, that doesn’t mean their other tracks aren’t absolute rippers! Check out 'Only Bones' for yourself, its out on all platforms.
