“true meaning of a son of a bitch”

Heavy hardcore outfit Ovtsider are set to steal the hardcore scene and claim their spot as a contender for the best upcoming heavy band. With the recent release if their new single featuring Shaun Cox of Perths' Daybreak, its safe to say I was blown away by their sheer rein of carnage. Absolutely filthy riffs, some amazing work with mixing and super cleaver lyrics – you’d be damned if you didn’t get onto this band earlier. Getting into the nitty-gritty, here’s my review on 'Blood'.

Upon entry to the song, were hit with some seriously mean chugs. The song straight off the bat really radiates everything hardcore stands for; a strong front-man and fantastic drum work. What I really want to commend for this track is the lyrical song writing. After the intro we’re hit with a slower tempo, the transition from first verse to first breakdown is impressively smooth. At around two minutes into the track, we’re hit with an absolutely brutal break down. Being a heavy hardcore girl myself, I have a massive love for the genre – it’s so safe to say that this riff put the BIGGEST smile on my face (along with goose bumps).

In my conclusions, Ovtsider can and will beat you in a fight. It’s like if the tough kids in school who were out to seal your lunch money had a theme song, it would be 'Blood'. I’m so beyond stoked to see what else this band has to offer, and I can only imagine how wild these Ovtsider pits are going to be (once this pandemic rolls over, at least).

The band is solid overall. An amazing execution and I’m extremely impressed that this what they’ve produced as a single. Please for your own sake, if you love hardcore like me go and stream the hell out of this single, its out for your enjoyment now!
